There are endless amazing plant based snacks at the Disney parks. So much so that we often don't have time to enjoy them all on each trip. I've given up trying to tackle each and every delightful snack and treat on my visits. Instead, I have a list of not-to-be-missed items and then fill in with others as I go.

Mickey Pretzels Always Hit the Spot
Mickey Pretzels Always Hit the Spot

Both Disneyland and DCA have amazing options, but I've found more mouth watering treats at DCA lately. DCA also seems to have more substantial plant based meals, but I'll tackle that in a different post. This is snacks and snacks only! (though to be fair, sometimes a snack ends up being a small meal).

Here are my favorite snacks at both parks, in no particular order!

#1: Dole Whip- Disneyland

It's iconic for a reason. The light, smooth, refreshing Dole Whip never disappoints on a hot day. I am a Dole Whip purist, however. No floats or fancy flavors. Gimme the OG.

#2: Mickey Pretzel- Disneyland & DCA

Oh how I adore a Mickey pretzel. There's nothing fancy about it. The flavor is simple, not exciting, but it always hits the spot. As a family of three, we're now starting to purchase 2 each time instead of sharing one. Those "let's split one" days are over!

#3: Frozen Banana- Disneyland

This one might be controversial. Some people love a frozen chocolate covered banana and others strongly don't. But I strongly do! Warning: Let it warm for a few minutes before trying to tackle it. When it's fresh out of the freezer thingy, it's just too cold to enjoy (and I always forget this rule because I'm too excited).

#4: Butter Flavored Popcorn- Disneyland & DCA

The word "butter" might be in the title, but don't let that fool you. The regular popcorn around the parks is simply butter "flavored" which means there's not a trace of dairy to be found! It's buttery, salty, and when it's fresh...it's insanely delicious.

#5: Vegan Hot Fudge Sundae- DCA

To be very clear, I used to always get this at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop in DCA, but it's gotten ridiculously expensive. We're talking upwards of $20 for an ice cream sundae. Don't get me wrong, it's absolute heaven. It's one of the most delicious treats I've ever eaten. And there are times I'll splurge, but sometimes I just can't justify the price. P.S. Always add strawberry. Always.

#6: Plant-Based Philly Dog- DCA

Oh mama. This dog is good and the house made "fries" are the cherry on top. I love that it's not super heavy, but still really flavorful. Grilled onions, grilled peppers, and a drizzle of vegan crema bring the entire thing together. It's considered a meal, but if I share it, it becomes a snack!

#7: Tacos Dorados de Papa- DCA

These little tacos are crisp and incredibly satisfying. Potato filled corn tortillas deep fried and smothered in slaw, dairy free crema, and tomatillo salsa. This dish is lacking a solid protein element so I find it better as a snack. Don't sleep on it though. The slaw is a delightful addition of veggies (when that can be hard to come by on vacation).

#8: Ronto-less Garden Wrap- Galaxies Edge Disneyland

Another item that is meant to be a meal, but can easily stand in as a snack. Impossible Sausage, spicy Kimchi Slaw, sweet Pickled Cucumber, Gochujang Spread, wrapped in Pita. My oh my is it divine. A tad on the spicy side, which is fine by me!

And there you have it. The items I'll never miss on a Disney trip. But remember, there are SO MANY more delicious options at the parks. Too many to ever eat in one trip. I'll keep chipping away at the list and over time I'm confident I'll try everything. Until then, I hope this quick list helps identify the top players. Enjoy!

About Me

What's even better than going to Disneyland? Planning the next trip! Where to stay, what to eat, and which outfit to wear.

I'm always dreaming of our next family Disney trip. Whether it be a vacation or a RunDisney race weekend, I spend most of my time researching, and planning the next steps to get the most out of our trips (and budget).

I'm also quite picky about accommodations and the overall experience (and rather cheap if I'm being honest), so I've got lots of thoughts and feelings about each and every stay.

When I'm not traveling, planning, or dreaming about Disney trips, I'm cooking vegan meals, teaching dance, and training for my next race.
