Pixie Pick: The Best Family Carry-On

I've trialed so many carry-on configurations for our family travels, and each time I learn something different, but I've successfully landed on a game changer.

Ever see that person traveling through the airport? You know the one. That person who has it all together? In one hand is their small rolling carry-on, in the other a fresh cup of coffee. No juggling, stumbling, or struggling to find that one item that's buried at the bottom of a bottomless tote? No adjusting at the shoulder strap that’s been digging into their arm. Who smoothly retrieves that very specific object from its perfectly organized and designated pocket inside a compact, sleek bag. Well I have. I see that person every time I travel and I always admire from afar knowing I could never achieve such status. And how could I? In my carry-on must exist enough supplies to last our family of three for hours. Through all possible scenarios. That's a lot of stuff!
The Goal
A carry-on that can fit under the seat in front of me that allows me to access all wanted items throughout the flight without needing to reach into the overhead bin. One that is functional enough to grab items with ease (aka: no digging and struggling) and is big enough to fit all the things. Plus, is functional enough to double as a purse (so that I may pair down my “worn item” to a crossbody/belt bag.)
The Solution
LUGGEX Underseat Carry On. (Very not sponsored). I wasn't sure at first. If it fit all my contents, would it then still fit under the seat? And alas, it did! The main compartment is big enough to hold a change of clothes (for the kiddo or adult), a blanket, toys for the flight, bottle of water, and more. The many pockets ensure the smaller items are organized and at arms reach. Hand sanitizer spray and wipes especially since I seem to needs these constantly. I even have one pocket dedicated to store my wallet and my little cosmetics pouch so that my cross body bag can store my phone and passport.
The Result
I’m starting to feel like that person y’all! One entire hand free to hold the hand of a little person or sip a cup of coffee. Zero shoulder or neck pain from a backpack that has been overpacked. And the second my husband or kiddo asks for that one specific hard to find item, I instantly unzip its appropriate pocket and fetch it out with an arrogant flourish. Clothing, toys, snacks, toiletries, water... all of it! It all fits. And with that, I feel more cool, calm, and collected. Aka, a much more chill travel mama.
