Three categories of sunscreen because each one needs something special!

I've tried so many sunscreens and many, if not most of them, fall short of my expectations. Many have been greasy or heavy, some have left a white cast, and one in particular left me with a painful red rash. And thus, when I find a sunscreen I like, I tend to stick with it until I find something better (which doesn't often happen).

The one requirement that all must adhere to: At minimum, SPF 50. Anything less won't work for me.

#1 - Daily Moisturizing SPF 50 by Coola

This is my daily go-to. It's light, but still moisturizing and feels clean on my skin. Never feels greasy or heavy and always washes off with ease. Though it states "water resistant" I'm not sure I buy that considering how well it washes off with just water. But I'm fine with that. I have other awesome options when I need a sweat-proof or water-resistant option. It comes in fragrance free and white tea scent. I prefer the fragrance free.

#2 - Sport SPF 50 by Seaweed Bath Co.

A sweat-friendly option is essential for all outdoor running! Even when it's cloudy out, I still slather my face (and neck, don't forget the neck) in SPF 50. Some of my runs are long (over 2 hours) and I need to know my SPF is staying in place and this one does it. Plus, the white cast is minimal so I don't look like a circus clown when I'm running. What do I do when I need to reapply....? I'm so glad you asked. Enter my favorite travel SPF

Sunscreen is a non-negotiable, so I am determined to find options that work well!

Tip #3 - Portable Single-Serve Sport SPF 50

CoreTex Sun X 50 SPF Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Packets
CoreTex Sun X 50 SPF Broad Spectrum Sunscreen Packets

I can't begin to describe how excited I was when I discovered these single packets of sunscreen. I used to squeeze sunscreen into small containers to take on my run (or during a long race) and then fumble with dispensing the contents while on the go. Sometimes it would work and other times I'd have a puddle of sunscreen in my pocket. I messed around with many iterations and never found a good solution, until... CoreTex changed everything. The actual product is really good too! Not too greasy and doesn't run into my eyes. I'm not sure how I even stumbled upon these, but man am I glad I did. NOTE: This is always part of my RunDisney gear check bag!

Sunscreen has been and always will be a non-negotiable!

And it should be for you too! Find what you love and always apply liberally and often.

About Me

What's even better than going to Disneyland? Planning the next trip! Where to stay, what to eat, and which outfit to wear.

I'm always dreaming of our next family Disney trip. Whether it be a vacation or a RunDisney race weekend, I spend most of my time researching, and planning the next steps to get the most out of our trips (and budget).

I'm also quite picky about accommodations and the overall experience (and rather cheap if I'm being honest), so I've got lots of thoughts and feelings about each and every stay.

When I'm not traveling, planning, or dreaming about Disney trips, I'm cooking vegan meals, teaching dance, and training for my next race.
