And why it should be at the top of your Disney Parks Packing list!

Possibly the least sexy item on any of my lists, but I can't stress the importance of this one item enough. You (and your kids) will thank me later, much later.

Colorful ear protection for kids
Snug Kids Ear Protection

Ear protection. Yes, you heard me. Ear protection! The Disney parks are exceptionally loud. My husband and I have always been the couple wearing ear plugs on Indiana Jones, but ever since we started bringing a child to the parks, we've become even more sound-aware. Kids have such sensitive hearing and the sounds in the park can be downright piercing. There are some experiences where our kiddo will ask for their ear protection and there are other experiences where we will just insist on it.

Kids Ear Protection

There are many options for kiddos ranging in sizes for little ones to preschoolers and beyond. We bought ours on Amazon and they were colorful, cheery, and not too expensive. Then, as soon as we entered the park, we realized we left them back in the hotel. Come to find, they sell ear protection in the parks! At DCA, they're sold at Kingswell (just to the right after you enter the park) and they're behind the register. They ran us about $30 which was pricier than online, but we were staying farther out on this trip and didn't want to spend the time to go back. Sometimes it's worth the money.

Grownup Ear Protection

Yes. We are those people who have earplugs tucked into all our pockets and bags. Some of the rides at Disney are so loud it takes away from the experience. So, we keep them handy, pop them in our ears, and feel amazing every single time. Now, if you're cool like my husband, you can just use your AirPods to cancel out the sound. Way cooler than me.

I hope this item enhances your park experience and keeps your family's ears comfortable and protected for years to come!

About Me

What's even better than going to Disneyland? Planning the next trip! Where to stay, what to eat, and which outfit to wear.

I'm always dreaming of our next family Disney trip. Whether it be a vacation or a RunDisney race weekend, I spend most of my time researching, and planning the next steps to get the most out of our trips (and budget).

I'm also quite picky about accommodations and the overall experience (and rather cheap if I'm being honest), so I've got lots of thoughts and feelings about each and every stay.

When I'm not traveling, planning, or dreaming about Disney trips, I'm cooking vegan meals, teaching dance, and training for my next race.
